Low Ground Walking
 
Enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland on foot. Rothiemurchus has a 50km network of carefully maintained paths which take you through beautiful forest, around stunning lochs and to the foot of vast mountains. Rothiemurchus is home to a wealth of different plants and animals such as; Red Squirrels, Pine Martens, Red Deer and rare birds such as Crossbills, Crested Tits and Capercaillie. Fancy a walk? We have 3 fantastic self-guided walks around the estate:

The Lochs Walk The Lochs Walk 3 miles 1 – 1½ hours
The Quiet Walk The Quiet Walk 3.1 miles 1 – 1½ hours
Views of the Mountains Walk Views of the Mountains Walk 5.6 miles 2½ – 3hours

If you would like more information on these walks, you can become an Explorer for the small price of £1.50 and you will receive an Explorer Map, which details the 3 self-guided walks above. The explorer map can be purchased from the Rothiemurchus Centre, Fishery, Loch an Eilein and the Shoot.

If you are interested in doing other walks around the estate, we will try our best to accommodate reasonable requirements outwith preferred routes. However, please be aware that wildlife benefit if you use the routes and footpaths on the explorer map.
